WORK ENVIRONMENT

Employees work in crews made up of a foreman, lead person, and helpers. Each crew meets at one central location daily - either the area office or jobsite office - to get equipment ready, load material, and hit the job. All work is done outside on highways all over Texas. Some work requires freeway closures, other work is performed on the side of the road. Crew members receive on-the-job training in equipment operation, concrete work, electrical installation, and steel erection. The "team approach" is used in managing crews, allowing each crew member to learn different skills as they work.
