Job Summary:
Responsible for planning, organizing, and directing daily activities that affect the company’s construction programs. This position is expected to work under minimal supervision, in collaboration with human resources, management, employees, and construction leads to oversee the safe work environment at each project site.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Implement, and maintain site training programs for Supervisors/Managers and field employees to enhance knowledge and ensure compliance.
- Perform safety audits and inspections.
- Participate in accident and incident investigations and reviews.
- Conduct new hire safety orientation.
- Review and enforce company safety programs, policies, and procedures as needed.
- Analyze data and identify trends, relating to the safety of employees, operations, and use of equipment.
- Attend continuing education courses/seminars as requested by Safety Director.
- Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Bilingual – Spanish/English recommended.
- Able and willing to travel within the State of Texas.
- Able and willing to work days and/or nights.
- Ergonomic knowledge required.
- Proficient understanding of federal, state (Texas), and local environmental health and safety regulations, including the ability to identify resources available to maintain compliance.
- Experience in training, teaching, and/or facilitating instruction to adults.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to successfully pass a pre-placement physical, audiogram and drug/alcohol tests.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in health and safety, Environmental Health, or related field recommended.
- Health and safety certification required.
- One year of related experience is preferred.
- Preferred Certifications: Certified Safety & Health Official (CSHO) Certification, OSHA 10 and 30 Card; American Red Cross CPR/ First Aid instruction.
Physical Requirements:
- Required to travel to active construction jobsites. Jobsite conditions will vary depending on type of work being performed.
- This position will be exposed to dust, uneven terrain, and noise while on a jobsite.
- Work includes occasional heavy lifting (50-100 lbs.).
